The Day the Music Died

"Three Steps to Heaven" is a 1960 single by Eddie Cochran. It became a posthumous UK number-one hit for Cochran following his death in a car crash. In the US it didn't reach the Billboard Hot 100. Three Steps To Heaven was recorded in January 1960 and featured the late Buddy Holly's Crickets on instruments.

The plane crash has been called the first and greatest tragedy rock and roll has ever suffered.
